G and TC realised they had a common goal after having consumed many bottles of red wine together, over many evenings, at The New Rose pub in Islington.
Whilst both lamenting the pitiful state of the music industry and lack of development of talented (and let’s face it, the not so privileged) artists, they decided it was time to take a stand! Old school A&R and artist development was quite clearly the way forward, but with an in-depth understanding of modern content driven social media. So coming from very different places, but together covering all the angles, Stone Rolla was born.
TC has had a long and varied career working in the music industry spanning over 25 years. She’s founded and managed a couple of successful indie labels since the mid 90’s, having released (mainly on vinyl) over 60 singles, 15 albums, and a few comps, nailed a major label deal with Sony and managed and promoted a number of famous artists along the way.
G first cut his teeth in the music business in his early 20s setting up a recording studio, where he found himself surrounded by UK urban stars, and major label A&Rs. This was the perfect environment for him to develop his technical, musical and hustling skills. Since then, he has gone on to work in many different roles and industries, having studied everything from economics, design, technology and social media.
Stone Rolla was formed to encompass label, artist management, live events and multi-media services, to empower the (often unsung and under-resourced) talent, that's always lurked beneath the major label's radar.
Along the way Stone Rolla aims to promote some innovating new ideas, and yeah, possibly maybe...change some of the way things are done!
